Measurement technology of the future - convincing accuracy

Nutrishield

As part of the EU-funded Nutrishield project, Argos Messtechnik GmbH is developing a prototype for trace gas detection of methane and hydrogen cyanide in human breath

The EU-funded Nutrishield project involves the development of a platform to optimize individual nutrition and personal well-being. To this end, a wide range of biomarkers associated with food and disease are being analyzed.

Argos Messtechnik GmbH is working together with a team of international experts on a prototype for breath gas analysis, whereby trace gas concentrations of methane and hydrogen cyanide are to be evaluated. A multispectral spectroscopic system is being developed for this purpose, which uses a long-path measuring cell to detect concentrations of methane in the ppm range and hydrogen cyanide in the ppb range. The development is based on the IEC 60601 and ISO 13485 guidelines for the development of medical devices.
